Have you ever been curious about who makes the handbound books BatCat Press produces? As we go through the second half of our 2015 – 2016 year at BatCat Press, we’ll introduce you to all twelve of the staff members that work year-round on creating our beautiful journals and publications! We hope you enjoy!

“I like a lot of things about BatCat!” Rhyan said. “I feel like BatCat is the most productive part of my day.” Her current project, since we sold out of our book garlands at Handmade Arcade, has been replenishing our stock – and then making even more! “I think I spend the most time doing that.”
She added, “Although I like making things, my favorite thing is going to events, because you get to talk to people about all the stuff we’ve made.”

Rhyan has been to a few events, like Handmade Arcade and The Beaver County Bookfest (pictured above), but said that the latter was her favorite. “The kids were cute, and the people we talked to were enthusiastic about our books and how we’re high schoolers.”
Speaking of high school, as a senior, Rhyan is about to graduate. “I’m gonna be so sad -I’m gonna cry,” she protested when asked about it. “Don’t bring up graduation! This is sad. I don’t think about these things. I don’t like crying in the middle of the day.”
Check back next week for another Meet The Staff!
